Wedding at Allee Bleue, Cape Winelands

Le Grand Hall at the picturesque Allée Bleue Wine Estate in Franschhoek is both sophisticated and elegant. The modern, spacious events venue opens onto a courtyard, allowing for an easy indoor-outdoor flow that takes in rolling lawns and fragrant gardens – the prefect setting for a society wedding.
On behalf of wedding planners Pretty Different Events, The Events Draping Co. draping team was at Allée Bleue to fully drape the ceiling from the centre to the sides in classic white fabric, allowing for the chandeliers provided by Authentic Planning. The double volume walls were also draped in white, so that the venue was entirely transformed for the wedding! The challenging job was complemented by Mabel M Florals stunning flower arrangements.
Gala Evening for SA Guide Dog Association, Century City Conference Centre

The fourth annual gala dinner for the SA Guide Dog Association began with the patter of paws as all the working dogs and puppies of the Association made their entrance! Held at the Century City Conference Centre on World Sight Day, the guests were also introduced to two beautiful Labrador puppies sponsored by the 476 Charitable Trust. Moreover, the Association was able to raise the R500,000.00 needed to train five guide dogs for the Cape Town region.
The Events Draping Co. team was at Century City to set up draping for the special evening. Black fabric with sliver grey accents was draped behind the stage and on the sides of the events venue. Fairy lights in the backdrop created a classy look for an evening that was as much fun as it was a worthy cause!
Wedding at Nooitgedacht, Cape Winelands

The homestead and outbuildings at Nooitgedacht Wine Estate are surrounded by peaceful rolling lawns and centuries old oak trees, so it’s not surprising that the original wine cellar – that dates back to 1774 – is a favourite venue for weddings. With its historic charm, the rustic yet spacious building is a wonderful setting for functions and celebrations.
On behalf of splendid wedding planners and decor stylists, Trunk Events, The Events Draping Co. team was at Nooitgedacht to drape the walls in a series of graceful drops of white fabric that fell from ceiling to floor. Marquee at Anura Vineyards, Cape Winelands

The splendid Anura Vineyards in the foothills of the Simonsburg Mountains are renowned for their wide range of cultivars and fine wines. After a year’s break, many were pleased to learn that the estate would again host the popular Chocolate Festival. The event wasn’t just for chocoholics – who were amply provided for by an array of artisanal chocolatiers – but there were also ice cream vendors, gin and wine tastings, craft breweries, food stalls and live music available for the guests.
The theme for 2018 was inspired by Willy Wonka, and The Events Draping Co. team created a striking candy stripe effect for client Cozi Hiring by draping the roof and sides of their marquee in bright red strips. They completed the look by draping the marquee legs in the same red fabric. All that was needed was the chocolate fountain!
Corporate Function at GetSmarter, Cape Town

In 2008 two brothers founded GetSmarter, a company offering online short courses in collaboration with world-leading universities. Ten years on, over 50,000 people have completed courses their courses. Just over a year ago, EdTech giant, 2U, Inc. acquired GetSmarter for an impressive R1.4bn.
They recently held a function at their Cape Town offices to celebrate their broader integration with 2U, Inc. The Events Draping Co. team was tasked with draping the ceiling of their Huddle Space in white fabric with blue detail, reflecting the brand transition. In a rapidly changing world, they’re sure to continue delivering strong outcomes for working professionals.
80s Disco Party at 99c Agency, Cape Town

It’s always a blast when The Events Draping Co. is asked to transform the office space for one of 99c Agency’s legendary corporate parties. This time the draping team stepped back a good few years into the decade of Big Hair and Bubble-gum Music: the 80s. Think totally bright colours, disco dancing and mirror balls!
The draping team converted the whole look of the venue by fully draping the ceiling area, walls and partitions in black fabric and then hanging strips of vivid 80s colours like hot pink, lime green, brilliant yellow and electric blue across the black fabric. The bright colours popped sharply against the dark background. The floor to ceiling windows were crisscrossed with strips of fabric from the buzzing neon palate while spinning mirror balls were hung around the dance floor. Party time!
Gala Dinner at The Lookout, V&A Waterfront, Cape Town

The Lookout at the V&A Waterfront continues to be a great venue for all kinds of functions, not least gala dinners. So, it was the perfect choice for this year’s Regional Chairman’s Council gala dinner, where due recognition is given to top performers.
On behalf of Red Hot Events, The Events Draping Co. was there to drape the walls and eaves of The Lookout for this prestigious annual event. Because the venue had to be divided into various sections for pre-drinks, dinner and preparation, the team draped the room dividers and eaves in elegant black chiffon to complement Red Hot Event’s striking décor, creating an overall effect of sophisticated stylishness with an African twist.

The Laurent Function Venue at Lourensford Wine Estate in the Cape Winelands offers its guests a lovely light-infused space that spills onto a veranda and takes in an impressive view of the vineyards and the Helderberg mountain range.
The Events Draping Co. was at Lourensford on a blissful autumn afternoon to strip drape the ceiling for a May wedding on behalf of wonderful event coordinators Dapper Events. The draping team hung strips of bright white fabric from the centre of the ceiling out to the sides to create a series of perfectly parallel swags for the happy occasion.
Wedding at Silvermist Estate, Constantia Nek, Cape Town

You can take in one of the most impressive views in Cape Town while tasting wine on the deck at Green Vine Eatery @ Silvermist Wine Estate. Part of the Constantia Wine Route, the secluded montainside venue also happens to be a superb place to host a wedding. The kitchen places an emphasis on fresh ingredients and tasty food and also caters extensively for vegetarians and vegans.
Early on a misty morning, The Events Draping Co. was at Silvermist to set up on behalf of talented and innovative wedding planners, Heavenly Love. The draping team created a dramatic bridal backdrop in white fabric and peppered it with fairy lights to produce an eye-catching, magical focal point for the bridal couple to complement Heavenly Love’s fabulous flowers and décor.
Marquee at Two Oceans Marathon 2018, Cape Town

The world’s most beautiful ultramarathon was run for the 49th time this year, and despite the ongoing drought in Cape Town, the challenging road race had a sold-out field of 27,000 participants.
At the Old Mutual VIP marquee, guests were able to relax and keep tabs on the race in the transparent-sided marquee. On behalf of Chattels Infrastructure Solutions, The Events Draping Co. draped the marquee roof and sides in white fabric with green detail. Fairy lights in the marquee roof made sure the atmosphere was celebratory!
Wedding at Val de Vie Estate, Cape Winelands

Where the happiness of a bridal couple is contagious, the wedding celebrations are bound to be larger than life! So it was with Zimbini and Albert who chose to marry at the exclusive Val de Vie Estate on a windy but joyful Saturday in Paarl.
The elegant French-inspired ballroom was the perfect venue for the event, and Val de Vie’s professional events team a great pleasure to work with. The Events Draping Co. knew that the wedding was going to be the talk of the town, so the draping team upped their game to make sure that everything looked specially good. Full ceiling and wall draping in soft white fabric were requested in order to transform the reception venue into a magical wedding scene. Design Indaba at Artscape Theatre, Cape Town

Showcasing the best in design and creativity, the design thinkers, artists, architects and performers from Africa and the rest of the world were all at The Artscape Theatre in Cape Town, the go-to venue for the annual Design Indaba.
On behalf of Chattels Infrastructure Solutions, The Events Draping Co. was involved in a different kind of project this time. To complement a colourful geometric installation by London-based multidisciplinary designer Morag Myerscough the draping team covered various areas of scaffolding with narrow bands of shocking pink fabric – a perfect playground for adults on the piazza.
Draping for Samson the Movie

An epic story of power, faith and betrayal, Samson the Movie brings the well-known biblical story to life on the big screen. Filmed on site in and around Stellenbosch, The Events Draping Co. was thrilled to be part of the action behind the scenes.
The look and feel of ancient Israel was recreated by the production team who painstakingly built a series of life-size structures out of polystyrene and then magically transformed them into biblical edifices with the assistance of skillful paint techniques. Charged with draping the ‘harem’ room, the Events Draping Co. team used specially ‘aged’ burgundy and red fabric that flowed down the high walls of the venue. In the temple more ‘aged’ fabric, blue this time, was draped on either side of twelve imposing pillars that had to tumble down on cue for Samson’s grand finale!

The Lyceum at La Paris Estate is the perfect blank canvas for a wedding venue. Raw brick walls support high ceilings and dazzling chandeliers, while natural light streams in though its glass doors and windows.
Managed by wedding planner Just Jack Weddings and Events, the fabulous celebration held in the Cape Winelands recently was the culmination of three days of festivities. The Events Draping Co. team was responsible for softening the ceiling with strips of white fabric and for creating stylish entrances at either end of the venue. Elegant décor and lightning was provided by Authentic Planning, the beautiful flowers by Jo-Lize Floral Affairs and stunning photography by ZaraZoo.

The Olive Press at Boschendal Wine Estate in Franschhoek offers an elegant, expansive space for special events. The contemporary, double volume structure of the main function barn features beams of natural poplar wood. Glass doors open onto a sheltered patio with meadow gardens and the spectacular Groot Drakenstein Mountains beyond.
The Events Draping Co. draped from the top of the beams to the floor in chiffon white fabric, creating a light, almost ethereal effect for another superbly managed wedding by Anne Mann Celebrates and Scape Events.
