The luxurious La Residence Country Hotel is surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and plum orchards with a spectacular backdrop of the Franschhoek mountain range. The tranquil hotel in the Cape Winelands is lavishly furnished with huge mirrors and glittering chandeliers hanging from the vaulted ceiling. What better place for a wedding! The draping team, on behalf of Anne Mann Celebrates, draped two entrances along the Great Hall in softly falling white fabric to create an elegant entryway for the wedding party.
Tech Conference at the Avenue, V&A Waterfront

OfferZen is an exciting online tech marketplace connecting South African top tech talent with over 1000 companies. OfferZen recently hosted the MERGE Conference 2019 at The Avenue in the V&A Waterfront. Delegates gained insights into current tech market trends and learnt about building great software from local and international tech leaders.
To create more of a theatre experience at the full-day conference, The Events Draping Co. draped the windows in upper conference room in black fabric for a blackout effect.
Bavarian Festival at Royal Cape Yacht Club, Cape Town

Over a hundred years old and host to prestigious international yacht races, the Royal Cape Yacht Club is the ideal venue to relax and take in the scenic harbour views. Glass doors along the whole waterfront side at the club’s Regatta Centre overlook the spectacular marina, making it a stunning events venue. As part of a Bavarian beer festival for a customer appreciation evening, The Events Draping Co. draped the walls of the Regatta Club in Bavarian blue and white, perfectly complementing the blue and white table décor. Corporate Function in Strand, Cape Town

The Events Draping Co. was given the challenge of transforming a storage area of IBI business premises in Strand, Cape Town for a corporate function on behalf of event planners Hot Shot Events. To brighten the grey brick of the party venue, the draping team draped the walls in red and white fabric and created a series of lively swags along the tops of the walls in the same colours. Quite a transformation!
Award Ceremony at CPUT Campus, Tygerberg, Cape Town

The Tygerberg Campus of the Cape Peninsula University of Technology offers students courses in Dental Science and Radiography. Last week they hosted an award ceremony for their top medical students. On behalf of L&T Functions, the draping team went about transforming the common room by draping the walls in black fabric with accents of red and gold. The pillars were also draped in black to complete the smart look of the venue. Congratulations to all the award winners!
Wedding at Boschendal Wine Estate, Franschhoek, Cape Winelands

The Olive Press at Boschendal Wine Estate is a glorious venue for a wedding, and the lawns that roll from the main venue towards the vineyards also provide a suitable area for a large marquee. On behalf of Scape Events, the draping team draped a series of alcoves in a clear marquee that served as an additional reception venue for a wedding at the wine estate.
The Events Draping Co. had bespoke curved draping rails specially manufactured for the wedding. The draping team cloaked the semi-circular rails in soft white chiffon fabric, creating an intimacy that still allowed the alcoves to feel connected to each other.
Gala Dinner at Mount Nelson Hotel, Cape Town

The prestigious Mount Nelson Hotel recently celebrated its hundredth birthday. Built in the heart of Cape Town’s CBD to commemorate peace after World War I, there’s no classier place for a party than The Pink Lady! On behalf of wonderful event planners Hot Shot Events, The Events Draping Co. draped the hotel’s expansive ballroom for a gala dinner hosted by Greeff Properties with Winter Wonderland as the theme. The draping team got to work draping the events venue in a series of white swags and drops with fairy lights to rustle up a bit of winter magic!
Corporate Event at Webersburg Wine Estate, Cape Winelands

They have been creating fine wines at the historic Webersburg Wine Estate in Stellenbosch for over 200 years. With the slopes of the Helderberg Mountains rising majestically in the background, vineyards and a damn complete with quacking ducks, it’s the perfect setting for a corporate function.
Event organisers Hot Shot Events Management put together an exciting company family day with a Mexican theme at Webersburg’s spacious main venue. The Events Draping Co. team were asked to drape the ceiling in strips of vibrant colours like yellow, green, pink, orange and red. There were fairy lights in the strips and more bright colours around the pillars to complete the fiesta look inside the events venue. Some more cheerful strips decorated the Bedouin tents outside where the children played under a glorious winter sun.
Autumn Wedding at Molenvliet Estate, Cape Winelands

One of the top wedding destinations in South Africa, the versatile wedding venue at Molenvliet Wine Estate in Stellenbosch lends itself to many varied draping arrangements. The Events Draping Co. has had the pleasure of working at Molenvliet on a number of occasions. As each wedding is different, each time we drape the main reception venue it changes the look and feel of the overall wedding decor. This time, on behalf of Authentic Planning and Mon Amour Events, the team draped a series of strips in champagne coloured fabric. The strips flowed from the centre of the ceiling to the sides of the wedding venue, creating a gentle movement. The draping team also created more intimacy by partially enclosing the sides, again in soft champagne fabric.
Conference Marquee at The Lookout, V&A Waterfront, Cape Town

Last week’s exhilarating Condé Nast International Luxury Conference was a wonderful partnership between global sponsors and event organisers. While registration and refreshment took place in the ever-versatile Lookout event venue, the amazing line up of speakers and panel discussions occurred in a large marquee specially erected for the conference in the adjoining area.
Chattels Infrastructure Solutions were responsible for the 25m x 25m marquee and on behalf of global event company, IMG, The Events Draping Co. team draped the marquee in collaboration with Petals Group, who provided the side panels. To ensure a complete blackout for the conference the draping was all black. Lighting & sound by Gearhouse, with black vinyl panels by Artlab, furniture by Urban Tonic and plants from Indegius & Plantr.
Luxury Conference at The Lookout, V&A Waterfront, Cape Town

The fifth annual Condé Nast International Luxury Conference was held over two packed days at The Lookout event venue in the V&A Waterfront precinct. The programme focused on ways in which luxury brands can build market share, and discussed the value and promise of Afrocentric luxury. Delegates were treated to a range of high profile speakers from the local and international fashion and tech industries.
On behalf of global event company, Vivace, The Events Draping Co. draped the walls and back-of-house at the scenic Lookout. The team first draped the perimeter in white lining fabric, and then over-draped the white in striking bronze chiffon. The colour complemented the lovely latticed standing screens and African-inspired ceiling panels by Gear House. Furniture by Urban Tonic.
Wedding Celebration at Molenvliet Wine Estate, Cape Winelands

Molenvliet Wine Estate is a wonderfully versatile function venue, especially when it comes to weddings. Apart from the main wedding venue, which is a perfect blank canvas for wedding planners to work their magic, the rolling lawns offer an ideal place for the ceremony while the vineyards are great for pre-drinks and canapés. Then there’s the wooden veranda that runs the length of wedding venue – an alternative setting for a summer wedding banquet.
The Events Draping Co. team worked with wonderful wedding planners Nu Experiences to drape part of the reception venue in white to make it more intimate. They also draped three strips along the wooden beams that span the veranda, creating shade and ambience for the wedding guests while they enjoyed the celebrations. The décor, lighting, flowers and furniture all came together superbly with Baie Goeters, Bouwer Flowers and Happinest Weddings. Stunning photographs by Grace Charlotte.
