Matric Dance at the German International School, Cape Town

Like many schools this year, the German International School has had to adapt to a new reality. Luckily, it wasn’t all doom and gloom as they were able to postpone their annual matric dance to late November. The Events Draping Co. draped the front and back of school hall in classic ivory fabric, while the strip draping and fairy lights in the roof provided the style and sparkle.

Charity Ball at The Lookout, V&A Waterfront, Cape Town

With social gatherings still being restricted, we look back at the work The Events Draping Co. did on behalf of event planners extraordinaire, Wedding Concepts, for a charity ball at The Lookout in the Waterfront. With a colour scheme of black with gold accents, the draping team draped the roof of the venue in a series of striking black strips. Three of the venue’s walls were also draped in black, leaving the windows on deck side undraped to take advantage of the spectacular view. Meanwhile, the large pre-drinks marquee outside, by Chattels Infrastructure Solutions, had a clear roof that the draping team draped with intermittent strips of black fabric.

COVID-19 Testing Centre at Tygerberg Hospital, Cape Town

During these challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, The Events Draping Co. was pleased to assist with insulation for the testing centre at Tygerberg Hospital, Cape Town. On behalf of Chattels Infrastructure Solutions, the team draped the roof in a double layer of black fabric. We hope for the speedy recovery of all those affected and offer sincere condolences to those who have lost loved ones.

The Cellar at Nooitgedacht Wine Estate in the Cape Winelands offers wedding couples a graceful, authentically rustic venue for their big day. Here’s a throwback to the draping work The Events Draping Co. did for awesome events planners Authentic Planning. This time, The Events Draping Co. team draped the impressive high walls of the wedding reception venue in soft white swags, creating a series of inverted Vs. Something different for a memorable wedding experience.

Autumn Wedding at Molenvliet Estate, Stellenbosch

There is always something to look forward to at Molenvliet Wine Estate, no matter what the time of year. Here is a throwback to a year ago where The Events Draping Co. team draped the wedding venue on behalf of wedding planners Mon Amour Events. Kadou’s autumn-themed floral design worked well with the cream draping that was hung in soft swags in the ceiling and also used to partition the venue to create more intimacy. Matric Dance at Edgemead School, Cape Town

Edgemead High School places great emphasis on providing a supportive, empowering environment for its learners to become productive members of society, while its traditional values create leaders who understand the importance of service. A highlight of the year will always be the Matric Dance. Held at the school hall, The Events Draping Co. was again pleased to be a part of the setup. The draping team transformed the hall by fully draping the ceiling, the walls and the corridor leading to the hall in white fabric. For a magical touch they added fairy lights in the ceiling.

Wedding at Cavalli Wine Estate, Somerset West, Cape Winelands

With its exquisite views over the lake and the majestic Helderberg mountain range, the contemporary, luxurious venue at Cavalli Wine Estate in Somerset West has become, unsurprisingly, one of South Africa’s top wedding destinations.

The Events Draping Co. team was at the main wedding venue on behalf of superb wedding planners, Mon Amour Events, to drape the entire ceiling in copious sheets of pristine white fabric. The effect was a generous one, offset by a series of lush curtain billows along each side. A challenging, but satisfying wedding draping assignment!

Summer Wedding at Nooitgedacht Estate, Cape Winelands

It is always inspiring to work at the beautiful, family-owned Nooitgedacht Estate. The old-world atmosphere of the rustic cellar is perfectly complemented by the vineyards, orchards and rolling lawns that surround the historic buildings. This time The Events Draping Co. team draped a series of swags in white fabric the length of the impressive wooden beams on behalf of Authentic Planning for a wedding co-ordinated by Mosaic Weddings. Fairy lights by Authentic Planning followed the swags to create a lively canopy, with retro naked light bulbs above the wedding tables. Greenery and floral arrangements by Botanica Flowers.

Overlooking the Atlantic Sea in trendy Camps Bay with the majestic Twelve Apostles Range as a backdrop, the Bay Hotel is gloriously situated. For a more exclusive occasion, the hotel’s Celebration Deck at Tides is the ideal venue. On behalf of wedding planners Kelz & Co. The Events Draping Co. team created an intimate space at Tides by draping the interior and two sides of the extension in white fabric, leaving the gorgeous view visible at the front. The rustic cellar at Nooitgedacht Estate offers one of the most graceful, historic wedding venues available in the Cape Winelands. The Cape Dutch homestead dates back to 1771, and the family-owned estate prides itself on being able to provide weddings with a difference at this glorious wedding venue.

In the height of the summer wedding season, the superb Trunk Events planned and produced an unforgettable wedding at the charming wine estate. The Events Draping Co. was asked to fully drape the ceiling with fairy lights, creating a stunning canopy in white fabric over the spacious venue. The draping team then dropped fabric from the ceiling to the floor to form a bridal backdrop behind the main table, also with fairy lights. Photography by Vizion Photography & Films.
